Antique mall hours follow a clear pattern. Most malls open at 10 am and close at 5 pm or 6 pm, and nearly all of them open on Saturday. The day to watch is Monday: 21% of the malls we checked do not open then. We read the weekly hours that 440 confirmed antique malls publish on their own websites, day by day, to see when they open, when they close and which days they take off.

Which days antique malls open

Saturday is the safest day for a visit: 100% of the malls open. From there the share falls through the week to Monday. Sunday is a day of its own: 86% open, but usually for fewer hours.

Share of the 440 malls. Times come from the malls that give times for that day (438 on Saturday, 376 on Sunday); a mall that says only "open daily" counts as open but adds no time.

The days malls close

275 of the 440 malls (63%) open every day of the week, and another 95 (22%) close on one day only. The rest open five days or fewer. When a mall closes, it is usually at the start of the week or on Sunday:

The nine most common patterns. In total 47 malls (11%) are closed on both Monday and Tuesday, alone or together with other days.

Size makes a difference. Malls that state 100 or more dealers on their website are more likely to open every day than smaller ones. This is a pattern in the hours, not a rule, and our size figures are the malls' own:

Opening and closing times

From Monday to Saturday the most common opening time is 10 am: on Saturday 86% of the malls giving times have opened by 10 am. Closing time is split between 5 pm and 6 pm, and about half close by 5 pm on any weekday (50% on Wednesday, 51% on Saturday). A typical weekday runs about 7 hours.

Sunday starts later and ends earlier. Only 38% of the malls open on Sunday have opened by 10 am; 10 am and noon are the two common opening times, and 67% close by 5 pm. The median Sunday lasts 6 hours. Counting all 458 malls that publish hours, including those left out here, 84% open on Sunday; our Sunday antiquing guide breaks that down by state.

Evening shopping is uncommon. 46 malls (10%) stay open past 6 pm on at least one day, most often on Friday (38 malls). Adding up the days, the median mall with times for every day it opens is open 48 hours a week; half fall between 42 and 53 hours.

Differences by region

Closing early in the week is most common in the Northeast and least common in the West. The table shows the share of malls open on each day by US Census region. The regional samples are small, so a few malls move the percentages noticeably.

Holidays and seasons

20 of the 440 malls mention holidays in the hours they publish, usually to say they close on major holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and sometimes Easter, or that holiday hours may vary. Only 1 mention seasonal hours, so a weekly schedule on a website may not show a winter or holiday change. Around holidays, check the mall's website or social media, or call.

How we counted

We started from the 458 confirmed antique malls in our listings whose own website publishes weekly opening hours (pages read on October 8, 2026; recurring show grounds left out). The hours text was split into days and times automatically. A day counts as open when the hours give it a time or include it in "open daily" or a range such as "Wednesday to Sunday". Days the hours do not mention count as not open, as do days open "by appointment" or "by chance". Sunday follows the Sunday statement on each mall's page, so this guide and the Sunday guide agree.

18 malls are left out because their hours could not be paired day by day (for example a list of days followed by a list of times), or describe a market held once a month. In a hand check of 40 malls chosen at random, the reading matched the hours text day by day for 38. In one, the hours we saved stop after Friday, so its Saturday is missing; the other, a market open one weekend a month, is now left out. On October 20-21, 2026 we compared the hours of every listing with the visible text of its saved page and corrected 87 malls whose page said something else, most often because hidden data on the site (what search engines read) disagreed with what the page shows; 13 more are now labelled unverified because their own pages contradict each other, and 5 no longer show hours that belonged to another location of the same business. The figures update whenever we refresh the listings. If a mall's hours are wrong, send a correction.
